The Golden Spur Saddle Club was proudly established in 1959, born from a shared passion for horsemanship, community, and western tradition. The club began as a small group of dedicated riders growing into a cornerstone community for equestrian life. According to a newspaper article from 1959, the club elected officers at a meeting in Mooresville, with 25 members in its first year. That year President elect was Ben Hardin, Walt Stafford was elected Vice President and Cheryl Daily was elected Secretary. In its early years, the club called Stilesville and later Circle T Stables home, where members gathered to share in the spirit of friendly competition. Fifteen years ago, the club made its move to the Boone County Fairgrounds, where it continues to thrive today. Rooted in the values of family and tradition, the Golden Spur Saddle Club has built a legacy of community events that span generations and remain a vital part of the equestrian community.
